4.90

贊曰：頌種種因緣等，於中有二：初頌知機，後頌因緣譬喻，心所念行道遍趣行也。「諸欲」者，種種勝解也。「諸性」者，種種界也。「先世善惡業」者，處非處及自業也。說佛有五智力、種種念觀也，能知眾生此之五種故，以因緣譬喻言詞方便說法皆令歡喜，釋前種種言詞所由。

The Eulogy says: This versifies 'various causes and conditions', etc., in which there are two parts: the first versifies knowing the faculties; the latter versifies causes, conditions, and metaphors. 'What is thought in the minds and the paths traversed' is the knowledge of the paths leading everywhere. 'Various desires' is the various inclinations. 'Various natures' is the various realms. 'Past good and bad karma' is the knowledge of possibilities and impossibilities as well as one's own karma. It states that the Buddha possesses five powers of knowledge and various mindful observations; being able to know these five things of sentient beings, he therefore teaches the Dharma with causes, conditions, metaphors, expressions, and expedient means, causing all to rejoice, explaining the reason for the aforementioned 'various expressions.'
