5.124

贊曰：自下第四記正像法。若佛正法，教、行、證三皆具足有；若佛像法，唯有教、行，無證果者；若佛末法，唯有教在，行、證並無。稟教、行行、證果不同，故釋迦佛正法短、像法長，不度女人，正法像法各一千年，由度女人正法減半故。今華光正像年等，雖有三乘菩薩類多，故名大寶，雖有四眾，女人持戒，不減正法。

The Eulogy says: From here below, the fourth [part] is prophesying the true and semblance Dharmas. If it is the Buddha's true Dharma, teaching, practice, and realization—all three are fully present; if it is the Buddha's semblance Dharma, there are only teaching and practice, with none who realize the fruit; if it is the Buddha's final Dharma, only the teaching remains, and both practice and realization are absent. Because receiving the teaching, carrying out practice, and realizing the fruit differ, Śākyamuni Buddha's true Dharma is short and his semblance Dharma is long; having he not ordained women, the true Dharma and semblance Dharma would each have lasted one thousand years, but because he ordained women, the true Dharma was halved. Now, in Padmaprabha's case, the years of true and semblance [Dharmas] are equal; although there are three vehicles, bodhisattvas are more numerous, so it is named Great Treasure; although there are four assemblies, women uphold moral discipline and do not diminish the true Dharma.
