贊曰：此釋也。我之一乘功德無量，能與眾生受用無盡，但諸眾生或有有性或有無性，或有定性或有不定性，或初樂小後方樂大，由是不盡皆能領受，所以我昔初說三乘今說一實，故非虛妄，漸誘法故。

The Commentary says: This is the explanation. The merits of my Single Vehicle are immeasurable, able to grant inexhaustible enjoyment to sentient beings. However, among sentient beings, some have the gotra and some do not have the gotra; some have a determinate gotra and some have an indeterminate gotra; or at first they take delight in the small, and only later take delight in the great. Because of this, not all can fully accept and receive it. Therefore, formerly I first spoke of the three vehicles, and now I speak of the single reality. Thus it is not a falsehood, because it is an expedient method of gradual inducement.
