5.46

贊曰：明自興嗟也。初頌欲問於佛為失大乘、為當不失？後頌釋疑。此以常見佛唯讚菩薩不讚我故，所以疑生籌量此事。

The Commentary says: This clarifies his giving rise to sighs on his own. The initial verse was wishing to ask the Buddha whether he had lost the Great Vehicle or had not lost it. The subsequent verse resolved his doubt. Because he always saw the Buddha praise only bodhisattvas and not praise himself, doubts thus arose, and he deliberated over this matter.
