5.58

贊曰：下六頌半正釋疑除，復二：初一頌敘疑生所由，後五頌半正釋疑滅。此初也。佛昔說三乘，我已得訖；今說為一，與本說乖，說我所得非真果滅，故心中驚，謂佛是魔惱亂我心，此疑於事名異熟生，不疑於理故非煩惱。或前憂、疑皆示相起，非在鶖子猶有憂、疑。

The Commentary says: The six and a half verses below directly explain the elimination of doubts, again divided into two: first, one verse recounts the cause of the arising of doubt; afterward, five and a half verses directly explain the extinguishing of doubts. This is the first. The Buddha formerly taught the three vehicles, which I had already fully attained; now he speaks of them as one, which contradicts the original preaching, and says that what I have attained is not the true fruit of extinction. Hence I was alarmed in my mind, thinking that the Buddha was a māra troubling and disordering my mind. This doubt regarding phenomena is called vipāka-born; since it is not doubt regarding the principle, it is not an affliction (kleśa). Alternatively, the prior anxiety and doubt were both manifested signs arising, not that Śāriputra still actually had anxiety and doubt.
