5.62

贊曰：此明三世諸佛同說方便，所以疑斷。初頌過去，後頌未來、現在二世，初皆方便、後方真實，即領前品三世佛同。眾說道乖可令疑起，群聖同範今疑故滅。

The Commentary says: This clarifies that the buddhas of the three times identically teach expedient means, by which doubt is severed. The initial verse covers the past; the subsequent verse covers the two times of future and present. In all, the beginning is expedient means and the end is the real, thus grasping what was said in the previous chapter regarding the identity among the buddhas of the three times. If the teachings of the multitude contradicted the Way, it could cause doubt to arise; because the host of sages share the identical model, present doubts are therefore extinguished.
