5.94

贊曰：下第二外土莊嚴，化淨土也。文有其十，此中有五：一國號，名離垢，純善所招無六垢故。二土相，其土平正心離高慢，於勝劣二中無怖無蔑，離諂慢故。三淨穢，清淨嚴飾眾生心淨故佛土淨。四安免，安隱豐樂，無殺盜打罵病刀飢饉三惡因故。五善惡，天人熾盛，由無外他惡知友故，分別煩惱一切不行便無惡道，人天乃盛。

The Eulogy says: Below, the second [part] is the adornment of the external land, which is a manifested pure land. The text has ten [aspects], of which five are here: First, the country’s name: it is called 'Stainless' because it is brought about by pure goodness and is free from the six stains. Second, the land’s features: the land is level and upright because minds are free from arrogance, having neither fear nor contempt toward the superior or inferior, being free from flattery and pride. Third, purity and defilement: it is purely adorned because, when sentient beings' minds are pure, the buddha-field is pure. Fourth, peace and exemption: it is tranquil, peaceful, rich, and joyous, because it is free from the three evil causes of killing, stealing, beating and scolding, illness, weapons, and famine. Fifth, good and evil: humans and devas flourish because there are no external evil companions, and with no conceptualized afflictions operating at all, there are no evil destinies, and thus humans and devas flourish.
