6.124

贊曰：第四合依言免難。心決定者不疑四諦、得證真諦，具六通者得阿羅漢，餘二果可知。論說不退住初地已上，出分段生故。三明者，宿命明、天眼明、漏盡明，如次能知去來今世除三際愚。所知勝故，三獨稱明。

Commentary: The fourth applies to escaping danger by relying on his words. Those whose “minds are resolute” do not doubt the four truths and attain the realization of the absolute truth; those who possess the six supernormal powers attain arhatship; the remaining two fruits can be known accordingly. The treatise says that non-retrogression resides at the first bhūmi and above, because they have transcended birth and death of fragmented lifespans. The “three clarities” are the clarity of past lives, the clarity of the divine eye, and the clarity of the exhaustion of outflows; they sequentially can know past, future, and present lifetimes, eliminating delusion regarding the three times. Because what they know is superior, these three alone are called “clarities.”
