贊曰：五頌歎乘勝德。分四：初一頌歎乘四德，次一頌聖所稱歎，次一頌娛樂之具，後兩頌第一之樂。此初也。此有四德：一微妙深勝故，二清淨離障故，三第一最勝故，四無上莫過故。

Commentary: Five verses praise the supreme virtues of the vehicle. It is divided into four: first, one verse praises the four virtues of the vehicle; next, one verse [describes it as] what the noble ones praise; next, one verse [describes] the implements of delight; and finally, two verses [describe] the foremost joy. This is the first. It has four virtues: first, subtle and wondrous, because it is profound and supreme; second, pure, because it is free from hindrances; third, foremost, because it is most supreme; fourth, unsurpassable, because nothing exceeds it.
