贊曰：正喻化中大文有三：上來已總略指，答為許說之由，及正說法喻令其開曉。自下第三有八十行半頌，勸信解於此經、欣當來之佛智。有二：初有十四頌半，顯法有權實，令捨權取實；後有六十六頌，示人之是非，令學是除非。初中復二：初二頌明父子情深見苦能拔，後十二頌半正顯權、實，令其取捨。此初也。「累」音力委反，積也。

Commentary: In the primary metaphor of conversion, there are three major sections: what preceded was a general, brief indication, an answer providing the reason for consenting to preach, and the actual exposition of Dharma and metaphors to bring about their understanding. From here on, the third section has eighty and a half verses, which encourage faith and understanding in this sūtra and aspiration for the future wisdom of a buddha. There are two parts: first, fourteen and a half verses reveal that the Dharma has the provisional and the real, causing them to abandon the provisional and take up the real; later, sixty-six verses show the right and wrong of persons, causing them to emulate the right and eliminate the wrong. In the first part there are again two: first, two verses clarify the profound affection between father and children, seeing their suffering and being able to rescue them; later, twelve and a half verses directly reveal the provisional and the real, causing them to choose between them. This is the first. Lei (累) is pronounced li-wei; it means to accumulate.
