贊曰：此滅諦也。貪為苦本，本在苦生；若滅貪本，苦果便滅。「所依止」者苦果身也。為滅集苦，說滅諦也。

Commentary: This is the truth of cessation. Greed is the root of suffering; the root being present, suffering arises. If the root of greed is extinguished, the fruit of suffering is thereby extinguished. “That upon which [all suffering] depends” is the body that is the fruit of suffering. In order to extinguish origination and suffering, he expounds the truth of cessation.
