The commentary: Receiving the fruit of a python's body has five [retributions]: first, a huge body; second, deafness; third, stupidity, 騃 being pronounced wu-gai fan, meaning foolish; fourth, lack of feet; fifth, being devoured by small insects. Some write 踠, pronounced yu-ruan fan; here, since the body is coiled, it should be written 踠. Some write 宛, yu-yuan fan; the Yupian says: "宛 means a small hole; four sides high and the center low is called 宛." The Qieyun says: "Bent grass covering itself." It was not originally the word for writhing/turning, so it should follow 踠. 唼 is pronounced suo-jia fan in the Yupian, meaning ducks and geese eating with their beaks; now, since it enters the mouth, it should be written 𠯗, zi-da fan. Those in ancient times who wrote 唼 meant the word 𭊹喋 for birds feeding, where 𭊹 is pronounced suo-jia fan and 喋 is zhang-jia fan. In the Zilin, sucking blood is also written 唼.
