贊曰：此三頌戒習。初一頌半捨惡近善緣，〈安樂行品〉當說其相。後一頌半堅持淨戒，「潔」音古屑反，亦清也。

Commentary: These three verses concern the habituation of morality. The first one and a half verses are renouncing evil and approaching good conditions; their characteristics will be explained in the 'Peaceful Practices Chapter'. The latter one and a half verses are firmly upholding pure morality. Jie is pronounced gu-xie, also meaning clean.
