贊曰：初一頌半忍習，後二頌慧習也。質直安受苦忍，常愍耐怨害忍，敬佛諦察法忍。

Commentary: The first one and a half verses concern the habituation of patience; the latter two verses concern the habituation of wisdom. Uprightness is the patience of enduring suffering; constant compassion is the patience of enduring enmity and injury; respecting the Buddha is the patience of carefully discerning phenomena.
