6.265

贊曰：下別陳喻。有二：初總談說喻，後正陳喻詞。此初也。以佛前言諸有智者以喻得解，故今亦以喻領佛意。

The Commentary says: The specific narration of the parable follows below. There are two parts: first, speaking generally of telling the parable; second, properly presenting the words of the parable. This is the first. Because the Buddha said earlier that those who are wise attain understanding through parables, now they likewise use a parable to receive the Buddha's meaning.
