Eulogy: This explains turning and running away. There are three parts: first, regretting having come; second, giving rise to thoughts; third, fleeing swiftly. This is the first. 'Seeing' means inferential cognition—it is not seeing with the eye, nor realization through wisdom, but inferential cognition through hearing and contemplation. The ten powers and fearlessnesses are called 'great power and influence.' Or, seeing the Buddha's great spiritual powers with the eye is called seeing power and influence. It not being something he himself could cultivate or realize, he therefore harbored fear. This is seeing the appearance of the transformation body in a pure land. Due to being exhorted to become a buddha, considering that he could not practice it, and seeking what ought to be realized, this is called 'regretting having come here.'
