贊曰：第二彼興小意。適本機宜，故歡喜。初發小心，故名得未曾有。從生死中發趣二乘菩提之意，名從地起。「往至貧里以求衣食」，二乘功德少故名貧里，規無漏法名求衣食。

Commentary: Second is his giving rise to the lesser intent. It suited his original capacity, hence he was delighted. Arousing the lesser resolve for the first time is called 'gaining what he had never had before.' Arising from birth-and-death and setting forth toward the aspiration for the bodhi of the two vehicles is called 'rising from the ground.' 'Going to the poor hamlet to seek food and clothing': because the merits of the two vehicles are meager, it is called a 'poor hamlet'; aspiring to uncontaminated dharmas is called 'seeking food and clothing.'
