贊曰：住修道也。此明金剛道前，雖得入聖欣於此遇，自知不及諸菩薩故，尚自謂是客作賤人。於二十餘年，喻二乘位。一一皆具無漏十法行、十業道故，常令除糞恒斷煩惱。或二十年者，加行、無間二位之中伏斷除惑。或住修道，斷上下界諸俱生惑，五下分結、五上分結二類斷故。或無間解脫道，斷種、麁重二位別故。

Commentary: This is abiding in the path of cultivation. This explains that prior to the vajropama path, although he has attained entry into the noble [path] and rejoices in this encounter, he knows within himself that he does not equal the bodhisattvas; hence, he still considers himself a hired, base person. The 'more than twenty years' is a metaphor for the stages of the two vehicles. Because each of them fully possesses the ten uncorrupted dharmic practices and ten courses of action, he constantly has him clear away dung, ceaselessly severing afflictions. Alternatively, 'twenty years' means subduing, severing, and eliminating delusions between the two stages of intensified practice and uninterrupted progression. Or it means abiding in the path of cultivation, severing all the innate delusions of the lower and upper realms, because the two categories of the five lower fetters and five higher fetters are severed. Or it means the uninterrupted and liberated paths, because of the distinction between the two stages of severing seeds and heavy defilements.
