6.363

贊曰：下集眾付。有二：一命集，二正告。此初也。今法華會去涅槃時纔有五年，名將臨命終。昔退大聲聞之子，會菩薩之親族。國王等四，喻四眾也，或如自名即實彼類。

Commentary: Below is gathering the multitude and entrusting. There are two parts: first, commanding the gathering; second, formally proclaiming. This is the first. Now, at the Lotus assembly, there were only five years until the time of nirvāṇa; this is called 'on the verge of the end of life.' The sons of the great śrāvakas who had fallen back in the past are assembled with the relatives of the bodhisattvas. The four, including the king, are metaphors for the four assemblies, or according to their own designations, they are truly of those classes.
