贊曰：自得涅槃謂已滿足，故不悕也。「以方便力說如來智慧」者，初說方便權教，意顯真實一乘佛之智慧。由我已得涅槃價故，所以自謂滿足已為大得，不知實事佛之智慧，所以不悕。

The commentary says: Having attained nirvāṇa oneself, supposing it already sufficient, hence there was no desire. "By the power of expedient means expounded the Tathāgata's wisdom": initially preaching the expedient provisional teaching, the intention was to reveal the true wisdom of the Buddha of the Single Vehicle. Because we had already obtained the wage of nirvāṇa, we therefore considered ourselves satisfied and deemed it a great attainment; unaware of the actual matter, the wisdom of the Buddha, we therefore had no desire for it.
