6.50

贊曰：下三頌半喻色界災。有三：一頌喻俗人外道俱生彼界，一頌喻雖有淨定折伏煩惱煩惱還起，一頌半喻雖求離欲執彼為勝煩惱復生。此初也。色界定深猶如孔穴。在俗生彼如虫竄之。外道鬼生，故言亦住。「竄」音七亂反，逃也。《玉篇》「藏，蔽也」。

The Commentary says: The three and a half verses below symbolize the calamities of the form realm. There are three [parts]: one verse symbolizes householders and non-Buddhists both being born in that realm; one verse symbolizes that although they possess pure absorption that subdues afflictions, afflictions arise again; one and a half verses symbolize that although they seek detachment from desires, holding that state to be superior, afflictions are born anew. This is the first. The concentrations of the form realm are deep, like holes. Householders born there are like insects scurrying into them. When non-Buddhists are born there as demons, it is therefore said, "also dwelling within." The character cuan 竄 is pronounced qi luan fan, meaning to flee. The Yupian says: "To hide; to conceal."
