贊曰。已上五十三行半頌，頌昔說權方；下第二段有十二行頌，頌今說實。長行有四，今此亦然。初三頌諸子索三，次一頌半釋成父志，次六頌父但與一，後一頌半越本子心，前後不同故。初文分二：初一頌半標索三車，後一頌半牒先父許。此初也。體父之意無憂慮，故言知父安坐。

Commentary: The fifty-three and a half verses above versify the former explanation of expedient means; the second section below has twelve verses versifying the present explanation of the real. The prose section had four parts, and this does as well: first, three verses where the children ask for the three; next, one and a half verses explaining the fulfillment of the father's intent; next, six verses where the father gives only one; finally, one and a half verses surpassing the children's original expectations, because the earlier and later parts differ. The first text is divided into two: first, one and a half verses stating their demand for the three carts; next, one and a half verses citing the father's previous promise. This is the first. Understanding that their father's mind is without grief and anxiety, it says "knowing the father was seated at peace."
