Commentary: The second part explains the fulfillment of the father's intent. The elder is immensely rich, possessing numerous conditioned and unconditioned treasuries, enough to provide for an entire state without running out, let alone for his children. Therefore, using precious realities, he made the great carts, so that by teaching them to cultivate, their fruition would be completely generated. Broadly speaking, the untainted five aggregates of omniscience constitute the characteristics of this cart. Casting off impermanent form, one attains permanent form; feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also like this. If tathatā were said to be the substance of this cart, that would be the jeweled place—how could it be said to be "made"? The conjured city is established as a teaching, and it may also be said "what I conjured"; how could the jeweled place be said to be made as well? Since the ox cart is made, it is clear its substance is bodhi.
