贊曰：陳述。有二：上陳說訖，下結成前。有二：初明佛知深、為生淺說，後讚成迦葉能解深義。此初也。「終歸於空」已前明佛知深，空之性故。體即真如，非空不空。「觀眾生心」已後為生淺說能契深理。二障雙圓便成種智，將護彼意不即為說一切種智，且說二乘，故佛與聲聞由此成異。

The commentary says: The exposition. There are two parts: above, the expounding is concluded; below, it concludes and completes the preceding. There are two parts: first, clarifying that the Buddha knows the profound but expounds the shallow for sentient beings; second, praising and approving Kāśyapa for being able to understand the profound meaning. This is the first. Up to "ultimately returning to emptiness", it clarifies the Buddha's profound knowledge, which is the nature of emptiness. Its substance is precisely tathatā, neither empty nor non-empty. From "observing the minds of sentient beings" onward, it expounds the shallow for sentient beings so that they can tally with the profound principle. When both the two hindrances are completely overcome, one realizes omniscience; protecting their intentions, he does not immediately expound omniscience for them, but provisionally expounds the Two Vehicles; therefore, the Buddha and the śrāvakas are hereby distinguished.
