贊曰：此頌第四不能自達。由佛明了究盡諸法、知眾生根，隨他欲樂勝解等故，為他說法令得正見，而諸眾生不能自知上中下性。文因前起，稱是故言。

The commentary says: This versifies the fourth: beings being unable to understand on their own. Because the Buddha clearly and thoroughly comprehends all dharmas and knows sentient beings' capacities, according with their desires, inclinations, resolute faith, and so forth, he expounds the Dharma for them to cause them to attain right view, yet sentient beings cannot know for themselves their superior, middling, and inferior natures. The text arises from what precedes, hence it says 'therefore'.
