7.241

贊曰：此中有二。一眷屬，二無魔。迦葉性、行調順，頭陀學戒，不慢於人、不壞善事，故雖有魔，皆護佛法。

The Commentary says: Herein there are two: first, the retinue; second, the absence of Māras. Kāśyapa's nature and practice were docile and compliant; practicing ascetic austerities and training in the precepts, he was neither arrogant toward others nor destructive of wholesome deeds. Therefore, although there are Māras, they will all protect the Buddha's Dharma.
