贊曰：此請也。聞佛音聲說一乘理，總言我作佛，如見王食。未蒙別記，受領脩行欣當佛果，名未敢食。蒙別授記，如蒙王教。即望脩行欣當作佛，名之為食。

The Commentary says: This is the request. Hearing the Buddha's voice preaching the principle of the Single Vehicle, declaring in general that we will become buddhas, is like seeing the royal feast. Not yet having received an individual prophecy, to accept and practice it while rejoicing in the future fruit of buddhahood is called 'not daring to eat.' Receiving an individual prophecy is like receiving the king's command. Then looking forward to practicing and rejoicing in becoming a buddha in the future is called 'eating.'
