贊曰：初明啟請。昔說小乘法輪利益聲聞乘訖，我意求大，請說大乘法輪。後明請意，我等志願大乘正法如來之知見，佛自證悉、佛自證明，願為我說。

The Eulogy says: First, explaining the request. In the past, the wheel of the Dharma of the Lesser Vehicle was turned, having finished benefiting the śrāvaka vehicle; our aspiration seeks the Great, and we request the turning of the wheel of the Dharma of the Great Vehicle. Later, explaining the intention behind the request: our aspiration is for the correct Dharma of the Great Vehicle, the knowledge and vision of the Tathāgata; the Buddha himself has realized and fully known it, the Buddha himself bears witness to it, and we pray he will explain it for us.
