贊曰：下五頌明供養事。中分二：初二頌六種內財不能報，後三頌四事外財并以起塔亦不能報。此初也。

Commentary: The five verses below explain the deeds of making offerings. Within this there are two parts: first, two verses explain that the six kinds of internal wealth cannot repay it; later, three verses explain that the four requirements of external wealth together with erecting stūpas still cannot repay it. This is the first.
