贊曰：三能知根熟未熟為說三乘。或麁或細、或實或權，觀根初後以施為，豈非恩深而難報者也。

Commentary: Third: being able to know whether faculties are mature or immature and expounding the three vehicles for them. Whether coarse or fine, whether real or provisional, he acts by contemplating the faculties from beginning to end—how could this not be a kindness profound and difficult to repay?
