贊曰：下第三周第四大段正為授記。有二：初授滿慈記，後授五百記。初記又二：初記因，後記果。記因有六，此初，記成勝人。「七佛」者即過去七佛。前劫有三，謂毘鉢尸佛、尸棄佛、毘濕縛浮佛。賢劫有四，謂迦路迦村陀佛、迦路迦牟尼佛、迦葉波佛、釋迦牟尼佛。辨賢劫等義，並如《彌勒上生疏》說。此為總陳過去七佛。「今於我」者，現在別陳。

The Eulogy states: Below is the fourth major section of the third cycle, which is the actual bestowing of the prophecy. There are two parts: first, bestowing the prophecy on Pūrṇa; later, bestowing the prophecy on the five hundred. The first prophecy again has two: first, prophesying the causes; later, prophesying the fruition. Prophesying the causes has six; this is the first, prophesying his becoming a superior person. 'The seven buddhas' refers to the seven buddhas of the past. In the previous kalpa there were three, namely Vipaśyin Buddha, Śikhin Buddha, and Viśvabhū Buddha. In the Bhadrakalpa there are four, namely Krakucchanda Buddha, Kanakamuni Buddha, Kāśyapa Buddha, and Śākyamuni Buddha. The analysis of the Bhadrakalpa and related meanings is fully explained in the *Commentary on Maitreya's Rebirth Above*. This serves as the general presentation of the past seven buddhas. 'Now under me' is the specific presentation in the present.
