贊曰：三合領為設化城。修行規覓聖法財寶之時虛費功力，名資生艱難。「艱」土難治也。《釋名》「艱，根也，如物根耳」。「難」憚也，人所忌憚。「得阿羅漢」謂得道滿，少謂為足。昔因本願，今者猶在，今時熟故。

The Commentary says: The third is integrating the understanding regarding conjuring the city for their sake. When practicing and seeking the sacred riches and jewels of the Dharma, vainly expending effort is called 'finding the necessities of life difficult to obtain.' 'Difficult' (jian) means ground that is arduous to manage. The Shiming says: ''Jian' means root, like the roots of things.' 'Difficult' (nan) means daunting, what people dread. 'Attaining the path of an arhat' refers to thinking one has perfected the path, being content with little. The original vow from past causes remains present now without being lost, because the present time has matured.
