贊曰：下第二段佛為記別。有三：初記阿難，次記羅睺，後記二千。初記有四：一佛記，二眾疑，三佛知告之，四阿難證說佛記。初長行有八：一佛名，二因行，三利益，四國名，五土相，六劫名，七住壽，八讚歎。此初也。由持法藏，智如海深而叵測，名如山高而難仰，名山海慧。所得神通縱任專擅，名自在。無所障礙，故名通王。

The Commentary says: The second section below is the Buddha conferring prophecy. It has three parts: first, the prophecy for Ānanda; second, the prophecy for Rāhula; third, the prophecy for the two thousand. The first prophecy has four parts: 1. the Buddha's prophecy; 2. the assembly's doubt; 3. the Buddha knowing it and addressing them; 4. Ānanda confirming and declaring the Buddha's prophecy. The first prose section has eight points: 1. the buddha name; 2. causal practice; 3. benefit; 4. name of the land; 5. features of the buddha-field; 6. name of the kalpa; 7. duration of lifespan; 8. praise. This is the first. Due to upholding the Dharma treasury, his wisdom is deep as the ocean and unfathomable, and his reputation is high as a mountain and hard to look up to; hence he is named Sāgarabuddhidharābhijñā (Mountain-Sea-Wisdom). The supernatural powers he attains are free and unconstrained, hence 'Sovereign.' Having no obstruction, he is named 'King of Super-knowledges.'
