贊曰：下明不對佛前法師。有二：初明聞已傍隨喜者，後明正行六種法師。此初也。正樂聽聞功德無量，今但舉一聞隨喜者，例餘自作、勸他、慶慰功德何窮。又上解初學法師，下解久學法師，大菩薩故。

The Eulogy states: Below clarifies the Dharma teachers not before the Buddha. There are two parts: first, clarifying those who hear and incidentally rejoice with delight; second, clarifying the six kinds of Dharma teachers who practice correctly. This is the first. Joyfully listening directly produces immeasurable merit; here it merely presents the single [case of] hearing and rejoicing with delight to exemplify the rest—how could the merit of practicing oneself, urging others, and rejoicing ever be exhausted? Furthermore, above explains the Dharma teacher newly practicing; below explains the Dharma teacher of long practice, because they are great bodhisattvas.
