8.415

贊曰：下釋。有四：一佛身，二本願，三誡勅，四願遂。此初也。何故一多寶為證非多佛耶？論云「略者，多寶如來身一體，示現攝取一切佛身故」。即是一身攝一切佛身，身平等故；亦顯一乘攝諸義盡。何故多寶為證非餘佛耶？論云「多寶者，示現一切佛土同寶性故」。欲明事中報化佛等土同為寶性，亦表所詮理妙清淨無差別故。

The Commentary says: Below is the explanation. It has four parts: 1. the Buddha's body, 2. the original vow, 3. the admonition and injunction, and 4. the fulfillment of the vow. This is the first. Why is it that a single [Buddha], Prabhūtaratna, serves as witness and not multiple buddhas? The Treatise says: "Regarding the concise, it is because the body of Prabhūtaratna Tathāgata is a single substance, manifesting the gathering in of all buddhas' bodies." That is, a single body gathers in all buddhas' bodies, because their bodies are equal; it also reveals that the Single Vehicle gathers in all doctrines completely. Why does Prabhūtaratna serve as witness and not other buddhas? The Treatise says: "Regarding Prabhūtaratna ('Many Jewels'), it manifests that all buddha-fields share the same jewel-nature." It wishes to make clear that in the phenomenal sphere, the fields of reward and transformation buddhas alike share the same jewel-nature; it also represents that the sublime principle expressed is pure and without differentiation.
