8.451

多寶示順二乘，現居穢土之相；分身為順菩薩，所以始變淨土。又多寶順二乘之往位，故居穢土；分身順二乘之後成，故居淨剎。主變有三時，客坐有二位。

Prabhūtaratna shows conformity with the two vehicles, manifesting the aspect of dwelling in a defiled land; the emanation bodies conform with bodhisattvas, which is why he only then transforms [the world into] a pure land. Furthermore, Prabhūtaratna conforms with the past stages of the two vehicles, and hence dwells in a defiled land; the emanation bodies conform with the subsequent attainment of the two vehicles, and hence dwell in pure realms. For the host's transformations there are three times; for the guests' seating there are two stages.
