贊曰：下十九頌對比勝劣。中分六：初五頌對比說難，次二頌對比書難，次二頌對比讀難，次二頌對比為一人說難，次三頌對比聽難，後五頌對比持難。此初也。初四舉易，後一對比此經難信難解難入。理智深妙故陶練難成，不同前四神通可得。「擲」音直炙反，投也，古作「擿」。

The Eulogy says: The following nineteen verses contrast superior and inferior. Within them are six parts: first, five verses contrast the difficulty of preaching; next, two verses contrast the difficulty of copying; next, two verses contrast the difficulty of reading; next, two verses contrast the difficulty of preaching for a single person; next, three verses contrast the difficulty of listening; finally, five verses contrast the difficulty of upholding. This is the first. The first four present what is easy, and the last contrasts that this sūtra is difficult to believe, difficult to understand, and difficult to enter. Because the principle and wisdom are deep and subtle, their cultivation is difficult to accomplish, unlike the former four which can be attained through supernatural powers. "Cast" (擲) has the fanqie pronunciation zhi + zhi; it means to throw; anciently written as 擿.
