贊曰：下第三段顧八十萬億那由他菩薩持。中有二：初佛視，後請持。此初也。以身加之發起眾心，令持經故，所以視之。故論本中名「勸持品」，以身勸故。

The Eulogy says: Below is the third section, looking toward eighty koṭis of nayutas of bodhisattvas to uphold it. In this there are two parts: first, the Buddha gazing; afterwards, requesting to uphold it. This is the first. By blessing them bodily, he arouses the minds of the assembly to make them uphold the sūtra, which is why he gazed at them. Therefore, in the root treatise it is named the "Chapter on Encouraging Upholding", because he encouraged them bodily.
