9.134

贊曰：下九頌半慢謗忍。有三：一頌舉慢相，次七頌誹謗忍，一頌半結成忍。此初也。邪智故、世智辨聰諂曲故，讚朋所事。餘之二慢，其相可知。

The commentary says: The nine and a half verses below treat enduring arrogance and slander. There are three parts: one verse presents the marks of arrogance; next, seven verses treat enduring slander; one and a half verses conclude the fulfillment of forbearance. This is the first. Because of perverted wisdom, and because of flattery and crookedness stemming from worldly wisdom and eloquence, they praise their own faction and what they serve. The marks of the remaining two kinds of arrogance can be known accordingly.
