贊曰：下七頌誹謗忍。中有四：二頌顯惡人，一頌明假行，二頌誹謗行，二頌說惡行。此初也。梵云阿練若，此云閑寂處，離村一俱盧舍，六百餘步。

The commentary says: The seven verses below treat enduring slander. Within this there are four parts: two verses reveal the evil people; one verse clarifies their false practices; two verses treat their slanderous practices; two verses explain their evil actions. This is the first. The Sanskrit word araṇya is translated here as 'a quiet and solitary place', separated from a village by one krośa, more than six hundred paces.
