贊曰：聖者伏除喻也。象、馬、車、步四名種種兵。喻聲聞、緣覺，各有有學、凡聖。令其伏斷，名往討伐。

The Eulogy states: The simile of the noble ones subduing and eliminating them. Elephants, horses, chariots, and infantry are the four kinds of troops, which symbolize śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, each having those in training, ordinary persons, and noble ones. Causing them to subdue and sever is called "going to launch a punitive expedition."
