9.38

贊曰：下品第二大段，明文殊順緣，善友說經益多速疾。中分四：初智積請歸，二釋迦留止，三文殊涌出，四智積談議。此初也。驗此文意，智積請歸明說經訖，故知八品正宗為勝。

The Commentary says: The second major section of the chapter explains Mañjuśrī according with conditions, where the good friend expounds the sūtra with abundant and rapid benefits. It is divided into four parts: first, Prajñākūṭa requests to return; second, Śākyamuni has him stay; third, Mañjuśrī emerges; fourth, Prajñākūṭa engages in discussion. This is the first. Examining the meaning of this passage, Prajñākūṭa's request to return shows that the exposition of the sūtra has finished; therefore we know the [previous] eight chapters as the main body are superior.
