9.416

贊曰：申疑所由。有三：初明自能通，次申他惑起，後正請除決。雖自無疑，示相不了，請決我疑。信隨宜說，信成就故。達佛所知，證成就故。佛言不虛，四無謬故。

Commentary: Setting forth the reason for the doubt. It has three parts: first, explaining that they themselves can comprehend; next, expressing that confusion will arise in others; and finally, directly requesting resolution. Although they themselves have no doubt, they display the appearance of lack of understanding to request the resolution of doubts. Believing in what is spoken according to suitability is because their faith is accomplished. Penetrating what the Buddha knows is because their realization is accomplished. The Buddha's words not being false is because of the four kinds of faultlessness.
