贊曰：此彌勒四請。佛既慈悲三告，大眾何得虛然，故加四請表悕法心重。三告示說三身，四請三身各四，祈四德、悕四智、濟四生，是此意也。

The Commentary says: This is Maitreya's four requests. Since the Buddha has compassionately given three admonitions, how could the great assembly let them be in vain? Therefore, they add four requests to show the gravity of their aspiration for the Dharma. The three admonitions are spoken to explain the three bodies; the four requests concern the three bodies, four times each, seeking the four virtues, aspiring to the four wisdoms, and delivering the four modes of birth—such is the meaning here.
