贊曰：下釋應物現權所由。「種種性」者界也。「欲」者勝解。「行」謂心行。「憶想」謂遍趣行。由此等故，佛事無廢種種說示。前說報身實成道久，佛眼觀其諸根利鈍故說示不同；此說法身實無諸相，由隨眾生性欲等異故說示不同。

Eulogy: Below, the reasons for manifesting expedients in response to beings are explained. 'Various natures' refers to their realms (dhātu). 'Desires' refers to resolute faith (adhimukti). 'Practices' refers to mental activities (cittacaryā). 'Recollections and thoughts' refers to pervasive directional activities. It is on account of these that the Buddha's work never ceases and various explanations and displays are made. Previously, when speaking of the reward-body, it was said that the realization of the path was truly long ago, and that the Buddha's eye views their faculties as sharp or dull, hence the explanations and displays are not the same; here, speaking of the dharma-body, it truly lacks all characteristics, yet because of adapting to the differences in sentient beings' natures, desires, and so forth, the explanations and displays are not the same.
