贊曰：此明更生惡。有五：一憍恣放逸；二懷厭，不樂親近攝受；三懷怠，懈怠所纏不能自察；四不生難遭之想，見佛不生希遇之心；五不生恭敬心，不起渴慕脩隨順業。此說由彼本性惡故，見佛更生初三種惡故，不生難遭之想、恭敬之心。

Eulogy: This clarifies their further generation of evil. There are five kinds: first, arrogance and heedlessness; second, harbouring weariness, taking no joy in drawing near and being gathered in; third, harbouring indolence, entangled by laxity and unable to examine themselves; fourth, failing to generate the thought that he is hard to encounter, seeing the Buddha without giving rise to the thought of a rare encounter; fifth, failing to generate a reverent mind, not giving rise to longing or cultivating compliant karmic deeds. This means that on account of their original evil nature, upon seeing the Buddha they further generate the first three kinds of evils, and therefore do not generate the thought that he is hard to encounter or a reverent mind.
