贊曰：八根熟道成喻。謂諸根熟得道之輩。色香二種喻福及慧，得道兩釋如前已解。「愈」音以主反，差也，應作「癒」。《玉篇》作「愈，益也勝也」。心憂為「惥」，病差為「癒」。

The Commentary says: The eighth is the parable of mature faculties and the achievement of the Way. This refers to the group whose faculties are mature and who attain the Way. The two attributes of color and fragrance represent merit and wisdom; the two explanations of attaining the Way have already been clarified above. The character yu 愈 is pronounced with the fanqie of yi and zhu (yù); it means recovery (差); it should be written 癒. The Yupian says: "愈 means to increase, to excel." Distress of the mind is 惥 (yǒng); recovery from illness is 癒 (yù).
