9.501

贊曰：十一戀佛愛法喻。有二：初念佛慈哀，思己孤子；後悲感依教，惑苦皆除。此初也。初是念佛，後是戀法。佛在慈悲救濟救護使無惑苦，今既佛滅無依無怙孤子何賚。

The Commentary says: The eleventh is the parable of longing for the Buddha and loving the Dharma. There are two parts: first, recollecting the Buddha's compassionate sorrow and reflecting on their orphaned state; second, relying on the teaching with grief, so that delusion and suffering are completely eliminated. This is the first. The first is recollecting the Buddha; the second is longing for the Dharma. When the Buddha was present, he saved and protected them with loving-kindness and compassion so that they were without delusion and suffering; now that the Buddha has entered extinction, without reliance or support, what can the orphans depend on?
