The Commentary says: This formally requests his answer. Seeing only that they look upon you, they solely hope for your benevolent answer. Previously, both this side and that side of questioner and respondent were looked upon simultaneously; here they look solely upon your benevolence, wishing for you to resolve the net of doubt of the assembly.
