Second, the accomplishment of teaching and transforming: that is, with various knowledges and visions, manifesting the various causes of defilement and purity. Because he is endowed with knowledge and vision, he can, within his transformation body, manifest that the accumulation of all defiled causes can bring about suffering, and the path of all pure causes can realize cessation; or he manifests the principles of all defiled and pure dharmas. 'Causes' has the meaning of reason and principle. The former is able to manifest the body, whereas this manifests within the body the defiled and pure principles of all dharmas. Below, the Treatise explains that this differs from the fourth: this relies on the realized Dharma, whereas that relies on the expounded Dharma.
